21 Jan What do you dream about?

I remember a conversation I once had with a good friend over a cup of coffee in a beautiful hotel lobby in New York. He mentioned that he was afraid of realizing his dream. He reasoned that if he would achieve what he dreamt about, what else could he strive for?

The thing is, I believe that if you decide to keep your dream as something unachievable. Something you only can imagine and not actually experience and enjoy, you rob yourself from doing what truly matters to you.

Dreams are wonderful but in order to make them happen you need to commit. To transform them into goals and work towards them with great determination and drive. It takes hard work. A lot of hard work.

Realizing a dream means stepping out into the unknown. To be uncomfortable. To do things that you might not think was possible. The sense of achievement when realizing something that once was a dream is incredible.

If you set the bar high, the journey to achieve it will be so much more exhilarating. Dreams are meant to be accomplished and if you are afraid that you one day will wake up without dreams, just keep raising the bar. Set new standards. Keep dreaming while pursuing your goals.

Napoleon Hill once said, whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.

So dare to follow your dreams. Dare to act upon them. To turn them into reality. Give yourself the reward of experiencing what it feels like achieving what you always dreamt about.
